{"product_id":"teun-zwets-bubble-clock-rode-design-klok","title":"Teun Zwets - Bubble Clock Red - Designer clock","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis red designer clock by Teun Zwets, the ‘Bubble Clock’, is the result of experimental material research and intuitive design. To create the original design for this clock, Teun Zwets worked with a two-component polyurethane, a material that reacts and expands as it cures. The still-liquid polyurethane resin was poured into a balloon, which was then placed in a simple, homemade mould. By turning and tilting the mould by hand, the (rapidly curing) resin struck the wall of the balloon. This simple process resembles industrial rotational moulding, with the major difference being that a very basic mould was used here, and that the mould was turned and tilted by hand. Because the balloon could move within the mould, and was positioned differently each time, every clock was unique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTeun Zwets has brought a small series of these handmade clocks to market. The clocks proved to be quite fragile, and the method of production labour-intensive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe clocks available here at IKONIC are therefore rotation-moulded in the ‘traditional’ way, in a milled aluminium mould and cast on a large machine. The clocks are made in Tilburg.
