Tim Fokker – Illustrator and game designer
Tim Fokker (2002) is a former intern at IKONIC and is studying Illustration at the HKU in Utrecht, where he focuses primarily on designing games and toys. Imagination, creativity and playfulness are central to his work. During his final year, he is developing an interactive installation that invites adults to play again without a goal or outcome — in the same free and intuitive way that children do.
That vision also forms the basis of IMAGY. With this game, Tim aims to challenge young and old alike to look at the world through a different lens and make room for imagination once more. By allowing players to give tangible form to their imagination through task cards and by challenging one another during the game, an experience emerges in which wonder, creativity and connection naturally come to the fore.
Help Tim! IMAGY is now available to order via Kickstarter!
“Being playful is critical for the well-being of both adults and children. Play is how we learn to be human, how we learn who we are, how we learn to fail, communicate, love, fight, rebel, desire, build, survive. At its best, play is life-affirming, soul-sustaining, and mind-expanding.”
